A suggestive walk in the mountains, on paths that cross the “Re di Pietra”, the Monviso, the mountain that dominates Piedmont and which originates the longest river in Italy, the Po.

Ritrovo ore 9,00 – Panificio Quel pò di Pan
We will start together from Ostana, where, in Frazione Villa, we will find the Bakery “Quel po di Pan”, a bakery at 1250 meters above sea level and overlooking Monviso, where a couple of boys, Flavio and Chiara moved three years ago and opened not only an oven that produces delicious things, but their dream: to live in the mountains and have their own business.
A departure that will put everyone in a good mood, for the spirit of the guests, for the goodness of the products and for the spectacular view of Monviso.
We will start our walk towards and, a couple of kilometers later, we will arrive in Frazione Bernardi di Ostana, where we can admire the Church of San Nicolao, a parish church of ancient origin and totally restored at the end of 1800, set on a steep rocky spur overlooking Monviso. Here we will have the opportunity to meet the Azienda Agricola Le Marie, which will give a tasting of the wines of its own production, in the ten hectares of the company’s vineyard, which are located between 400 and 450 meters and enjoy a happy position and a mild microclimate that favor the perfect ripening of the grapes.
A little more road and we will arrive at the Agriturismo Nostro Mizoun, where we can stop for a tasty lunch break based on typical dishes, a real lunch consisting of three traditional courses that will make you taste the flavor of these enchanting mountains. The break at agriturismo Mizoun will also make you discover other peculiarities of the place, such as the production of delicious liqueurs from local herbs or the breeding of Shepherd dogs of the Pyrenees breed, elegant and soft giants who courageously guard the flock from the attacks of predators, even at the cost of life.
After this restorative break it will be time to resume the journey to head again towards the main village of Ostana, but not without first stopping in Frazione Sant’Antonio, where the Azienda Agricola Apicoltura Volavia will be present with its delicious honey, a nomadic activity, which pays particular attention to mountain blooms. There will therefore be the opportunity to taste the honeys produced in limited quantities at the foot of Monviso, all certified organic.
It will therefore be time to return to the starting point and to greet these wonderful mountains, the light air that dominates them and in particular him, his majesty the Monviso who in the meantime will never have stopped observing us and … to travel with us!
