Journey into the wonderful world of saffron

We will take you into a colorful and surreal world, rich in chromatic nuances, subtle fog and delicacy… the world of saffron, the precious Piedmontese red gold with a unique aroma, which enriches and makes unmistakable many traditional recipes.

Silvio, the owner, will accompany you through his fields covered with surprising purple flowers and long red and yellow pistils and will explain his passion, telling you how these small bulbs have changed his life and perspectives and have literally enchanted him, to the point of leading him to recreate the family business and found his future on them.
The times, the methods of cultivation, the effort and patience … Silvio will reveal all the secrets of saffron, while your eyes, immersed in the mist of the morning, will not cease to be amazed.

"The Moulding" of Saffron

But how do you get to the powder that covers so many tasty dishes with aromas? Through slow and patient work. After harvesting there is in fact the “molding”, or the moment when the stigmas are separated from the flower. It is an extremely delicate process and must be carried out with the utmost precision. Silvio will take you to this magical world, made of art and passion for the product.

Wine tasting, aperitif and lunch

After a short transfer to the nearby Winery Cantine Storiche Dogliotti 1870, we will finally be able to taste the typical products of this land and some specialties based on saffron.
We will start with a delicious aperitif accompanied by the wines of the Historic Dogliotti Cellars, followed by a delicious lunch, an amazing and precious menu consisting of appetizer, first and dessert all strictly based on saffron and prepared by Chef Diego Bongiovanni! Of course everything will be combined with the wines of the Historic Dogliotti 1870 Cellars.

Finally there will be the opportunity to taste the excellent saffron grappa and flavored chocolate produced by the Saglietti 1941 Farm.
