Along the way there will be two tastings among the producers mentioned below

We will start our urban tour in E-bike together from Corso Alfieri, at the Bar Alfieri and, along the narrow and fascinating streets of the historic center, we will reach the historic Torroneria Cioccolateria Davide Barbero, where we can “taste” the first delicious stage based on typical Asti sweetnesses, such as Gianduja chocolate or nougat.
A few meters away we will meet the “very sweet”, Daniella Artisan Pastry Shop, where we will make a further stop based on typical local delicacies, such as the delicious dry mini-pastries or Meliga pastas, characteristic Piedmontese biscuits based on corn flour, all accompanied by a glass of Asti Spumante, offered by the Consortium of ASTI DOCG.
Our itinerary will then unfold through the streets of the center, where we will discover secret ravines of the city of Asti, places where once opened the shutters every day the historic shops and cellars often used as for winemaking or sometimes even as common glaciers. A fascinating and at times moving path, which tells us the daily history of a small town like Asti, always closely connected with its countryside and agricultural activities, in particular with regard to food and wine production.

We will ride along C.so Alfieri to reach P.zza Roma, where there is the majestic Torre Comentina that, with the Clock Tower, are the only two towers of the city that have arrived intact up to us.
Up to the Red Tower and then skirt the ancient Roman walls that wind for hundreds of meters in the northern part of the city and we will then reach the Cathedral, named after Santa Maria Assunta and located in the square of the same name, a splendid example of Piedmontese Gothic that offers the visitor a spectacular and grandiose, almost unexpected glance!

Continuing we will reach the central square, the real heart of Asti, or Piazza Alfieri, a suggestive triangular field in the center of which stands the statue of the famous Poet and Tragediographer from Asti who gives the name. Bordered by arcades, the square is the place where the Palio is held annually and near it there are numerous cafes where you can taste wines and alcoholic specialties such as Vermouth, the traditional flavored wine born in Piedmont at the end of the 1700s and still produced numerous by Piedmontese and Asti wineries.

From here we will quickly reach the Baptistery of San Pietro in Consavia, Catholic church consisting of four buildings dating from the 12th and 14th century located at the east end of the Via Maestra in Borgo San Pietro, inside the courtyard will be offered for tasting: the Arneis Terre Alfieri, the Freisa de I Divini of Isola d’Asti, the Uceline of Cascina Castlet and the Moscato Berlet of Dogliotti.
Back towards the historic center, we will pass again through the lanes of the ancient Jewish ghetto, where we will find the restaurant Il Cicchetto, where it will be possible to taste some of the Piedmontese and Asti excellences such as ravioli Gobbi Astigiani, an all-local specialty that for some years has boasted, a good right, De.Co.
It will accompany these native delicacies a good glass of a native DOCG: the Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG of Sant’Agata Winery, which will be offered to us by the restaurant Il Cicchetto.

Thus ends our tour among the Asti shops of the present and the past, a short journey through time and space of a small town that will remain in your heart, eyes and that you will want to “taste” again!
It’s a promise!

The products for tasting and the participating companies may undergo variations according to the seasonality of the products themselves and the possibilities and availability of producers linked to agricultural work in the summer and autumn period.
