Meeting: at 9.00 am – Volpedo Covered Market
We will start from Volpedo, home of Pellizza, a land of art and agricultural excellence and we will take a colorful tour of the organic market of the Strade del Sale Association, where you can taste and buy directly from local producers the extraordinary goodness of the territory. A wonderful encounter with cold cuts, cheeses, wines, vegetables, preserves and much more … per kilometer even less than 0!
An evocative ebike tour in the village to discover its many beautiful ravines and then off to Monleale Alto, where waiting for us there will be an excellent glass of Colli Tortonesi Timorasso DOC offered by one of the local companies in the area, all engaged for years in the recovery and revival of this amazing Piedmontese white.
Resuming the ebike we will arrive in Montemarzino, where we will have the opportunity to taste the delicious Pesca di Volpedo PAT, grown only in this area of Piedmont and rightly recognized as a typical food product. Fresh or preserved, in the form of jam or cut into pieces in Timorasso, this sweet typical fruit will amaze you and from that moment you will think of peaches in a different way … word of Gastronomic Trails! Next to the peaches still a good glass of local wine and then off! Towards the next stop!
We will thus reach Pozzol Groppo, a small town that stretches on both sides that slope down to the Val Curone and the Staffora Valley and whose stream marks the border between the provinces of Alessandria and Pavia.
Here we will have the opportunity to taste the honey and beer that are produced right on these beautiful hills, to complement with wonderfully and exquisitely natural wines from one of the local companies.
Fifth Stage: return to Volpedo and visit to pellizza’s house
Back in Volpedo we will have the opportunity to visit and get excited in the birthplace of Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, admiring his works and breathing the same air that hovered over his paintings and his colors, over a century ago … the Gastronomic Trails can offer you this too!
